Bronx Zoo 3-Day Workshops Offer Students a Unique Wildlife Conservation Experience

Students interested in animals, environmental science, and wildlife careers have an exciting opportunity to explore the world of conservation through the Bronx Zoo 3-Day Workshops. Hosted through a partnership with the Bronx Institute at Lehman College, the program introduces students to careers within the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) while providing hands-on learning experiences and behind-the-scenes educational opportunities.

Participants will engage in interactive activities, classroom-based projects, and guided explorations throughout the zoo. The workshops are designed to help students learn about wildlife conservation, animal care, environmental education, and the many career pathways available within the field.

Students may choose from one of two workshop sessions:

Session I

Dates: November 7, November 14, and November 21
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Application Deadline: November 2

Session II

Dates: January 16, January 23, and January 30
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Application Deadline: December 14

Space is limited to 35 students per session, and participants are expected to attend all three workshop dates within their selected session.

One of the most exciting aspects of the program is the opportunity for workshop participants to apply for the Bronx Zoo Summer Internship Program as a Discovery Guide Intern. Selected students will receive additional training and gain valuable experience engaging with zoo visitors through educational activities and exhibits.

Students interested in environmental science, education, zoology, conservation, or animal care are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this unique learning opportunity.
