LGJ students enjoyed an unforgettable Broadway experience at the production of PROOF, a show that beautifully blended theater, math, and psychology. Students made real academic connections during the performance, impressed nearby audience members with their engagement, and represented LGJ with pride. After the show, they met the cast, took selfies with Tony Award–winner Kara Young, and one student even received a personal congratulations from Don Cheadle during her very first theater experience. The night highlighted the power of saying YES to opportunities that broaden students’ horizons and create lasting memories.

The LGJ community is celebrating seniors Brianna R. and Leana B. for earning acceptance into the Fashion Institute of Technology, a major accomplishment achieved through their hard work, talent, and dedication. During an interview with Assembly Member Chantel Jackson on Beyond The Sports, a heartfelt moment unfolded when Leana became emotional after hearing FIT mentioned. After Leana shared her aspirations, Assembly Member Jackson immediately offered to write her a recommendation letter, adding meaningful support to the effort Leana had already put in. This touching exchange, paired with both students’ commitment and preparation, helped pave the way for their acceptance into one of the nation’s top fashion institutions.

The Jaguars Varsity Softball Team opened the playoffs with a dominant 18–2 victory over Information Tech High School. Nicholle M shined in only her second pitching appearance of the season, throwing a complete game and allowing just two runs while continuing to excel academically as she prepares to graduate early. Melianys B delivered a historic offensive performance with two doubles and a record‑breaking home run, becoming the first Jaguar to hit six home runs in a single season. Aniyah B added to the momentum with a strong two‑hit game, including the walk‑off hit that sealed the win. The Jaguars now advance in the playoffs with confidence and momentum.

The LGJ community is buzzing after junior pitcher Christopher U delivered one of the most dominant performances in Jaguar Baseball history. In a complete‑game outing against Longwood Prep Academy, Christopher threw a no‑hitter and struck out 16 batters, finishing just one strikeout shy of the school record held by LGJ alumnus Anthony Rodriguez.

As the school year enters its final stretch, LGJ Sports Media is gearing up for one last major project — an interview that would mark a milestone for our student‑run media team and for the Bronx School for Law, Government & Justice. We are officially launching a school‑wide push to secure an exclusive, end‑of‑year interview with Mayor Zohran K. Mamdani, a public figure whose work and visibility have sparked curiosity and interest among our students.
