College Advising

Our College Advising team helps students explore their options after high school and plan for a strong future. We provide information, guidance, and support so every student can find a college or postsecondary path that fits their goals and interests.

What We Offer

  • One‑on‑one advising to help students understand their college options

  • Support with researching colleges, majors, and career pathways

  • Help with completing college applications, including CUNY, SUNY, and private colleges

  • Guidance on writing personal statements and preparing application materials

  • Information about financial aid, including FAFSA, TAP, and scholarships

  • Workshops for students and families on college planning and admissions

  • Support for students exploring alternatives such as vocational programs, apprenticeships, or military service

College and Career Readiness We work with students to build the skills they need for life after high school. This includes:

  • Understanding graduation requirements

  • Planning a strong academic program

  • Learning about college expectations and campus life

  • Preparing for standardized tests when required

  • Exploring careers and understanding how college connects to future goals

Family Support Families are important partners in the college process. We provide information sessions, resources, and guidance to help families understand admissions, financial aid, and deadlines.

How to Get Support Students can meet with the College Advisor during school hours or by appointment. Families may contact the school’s college office for questions or additional resources. More information about college planning is also available on the NYC Department of Education website.
