SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM BELIEFS

The School Counseling program at The Bronx School for Law, Government and Justice believes in promoting academic excellence for all children. We are committed to higher academic standards, social justice, closing achievement gaps, and making a difference in the lives of urban school children. All students have a right to a school counseling program which supports achievement, emphasizes high expectations and supports the quest for individual excellence. Through a data-driven school counseling program, we identify student-developmental needs and provide programs that address these needs and that close student achievement gaps, opportunity gaps, attainment gaps and funding gaps. We utilize the National Standards for School Counseling Programs to ensure that each student’s academic, career and personal/social needs are met.
